The dry leaves serve only as a breeding ground for the fungus of leafcutter ants (it is advisable to offer sugary liquids at the same time to replace the missing plant juices). Simply place the leaves to be fed in a dry food chamber. However, fresh leaves are preferred by the animals. Dried leaves are therefore most suitable for bridging periods when none can be offered.
