Description:
This ant farm has been developed for wall mounting and is easy to install on wooden and stone walls. It is fully transparent and allows a good view into the nest. Either sand and clay or one of our matching nest inserts made of cork or Digfix can be used as nesting material for the ants. In addition, either a hose, a transparent acrylic tube or the “ant staircase” can be connected to the side connection sockets. We also offer wall ant arenas in sizes 30×15 or 30×30 to match the wall ant farm.
Installation instructions:
Due to the glass panel as a rear wall, the wall underneath should be completely straight.
To fix the 4 “S6” dowels in the wall, you need a drill with a 6mm drill bit (wood, stone or metal depending on the material).
45mm deep holes must be drilled in the wall to countersink the 6x30mm dowels with the 4.5x40mm screws.
Required for assembly:
– spirit level
– Adhesive tape to avoid having to mark on the wall below.
– Phillips screwdriver
– Drill/driver depending on the wall
– 6mm drill bit (wood, stone or metal depending on the surface)
– It is also helpful to make a template for the drill holes from a sheet of paper. Simply place it under the back wall and mark the holes.
Notes on production
The glass is cut to size according to DIN 1249 with a tolerance of +/- 1 mm. Additional escape protection is essential for extremely small ant species.
As our products are manufactured by hand, minimal deviations may occur despite the utmost care.
Note on the farm
Please note the following when attaching or removing hoses:
If the hose is very difficult to fit onto the connection socket, the socket should be lightly rubbed with a drop of our break-out protection oil or powder. The hose should then be pushed onto the socket using twisting or screwing movements without straining the socket with up and down movements. The same applies when removing the hoses from the farm connection socket. Please do not simply pull it off!
