Description: Our plaster nest with prefabricated passages and chambers is suitable for many ant species, especially for species that build their nests in very sandy or stony soils. It has a hole for access to the nest. Gypsum has the property of absorbing water, so that a certain amount of moisture is stored. Nevertheless, the gypsum nest should not be used permanently damp as otherwise mold can form (due to food residues or excrement from the ants). Therefore, species from rather dry regions should be kept here if possible. This would be species from Mediterranean or desert regions, for example.
