Descripción: Our horizontal nest has two connection sockets to which hoses or tubes can be attached. Alternatively, these can be securely closed with matching plastic or mesh caps.

For larger ant species, such as various Camponotus species, we recommend combining it with one of our separately available cork nests. However, the nest can also be filled with substrate.

The cover is easy to remove and fits securely on the ant farm thanks to its rubberized edge. In the middle is a 27 mm hole, which is used to moisten the inside of the nest. Depending on the desired humidity, this opening can be closed with either a mesh insert or a formicarium plug.

A red cover is available as an option, which darkens the nest and, depending on the species kept, can have a positive effect on the development of the colony.

Manufacturing information
The glass is cut in accordance with DIN 1249 with a tolerance of +/- 1 mm. Additional break-out protection is essential for extremely small ant species.

If the hose is very difficult to fit onto the connection socket, the socket should be lightly rubbed with a drop of our breakout protection oil or powder. The hose should then be pushed onto the connector by turning or screwing it, without applying upward or downward pressure to the connector. The same applies when removing the hoses from the connector. Please do not simply pull them off!
