This Digfix nest, made from a special material that can be dug into, is designed to fit perfectly into our ANTCUBE 30×30 horizontal nests. The plate can be used either dry or moistened and is suitable for many species of ants – especially those that nest in sand or (dead) wood. It is a practical alternative to sand-clay mixtures or cork nest inserts.

A particular advantage is the ease with which the moisture level can be controlled: the plate changes colour visibly, allowing the moisture level to be assessed optimally. Unlike sand-clay mixtures, the inner panes of the ant farm remain clean as no loose substrate sticks to them.

Thanks to its solid structure, the material permanently retains the tunnels and chambers created by the ants without collapsing – for a safe and natural digging experience.
