Le formiche tessitrici non hanno bisogno di un classico Formaicarium con una zona nido e un'arena. In natura nidificano sulle cime degli alberi o nei cespugli, ma mai a terra o sottoterra.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specie di formica Oecophylla<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Se si tratta di Oecophylla che volete tenere, allora avranno bisogno di piante vere nel loro setup per far crescere la loro colonia. Per questo consigliamo un formicaio alto almeno 40 cm. Dovreste offrire loro una pianta con foglie piuttosto grandi, perch\u00e9 usano la loro seta lavica per intrecciare le foglie di una pianta viva in un nido simile a un bozzolo. La pianta deve essere priva di pesticidi o fertilizzanti. Per esempio, le piante da un vivaio di piante organiche o da negozi specializzati in terraristik sono un'opzione. Alcune di queste specie di formiche si annidano in zone pi\u00f9 alte e altre pi\u00f9 vicine al suolo.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Sono diversi dagli Oecophylla perch\u00e9 non hanno bisogno di piante vive per costruire il loro nido. Invece raccolgono qualsiasi cosa, da foglie cadute o aghi di conifere a piccoli bastoni e rocce e li intrecciano in una solida struttura simile a un bozzolo.
