\nThis expandable starter set for all leafcutter ant species contains, in addition to the optimally adapted formicarium, the appropriate accessories for keeping these ants. The voluminous basins allow easy handling for feeding and cleaning. The large holes (50 mm) and tubes not only make it easy to observe the ants, they also allow the animals to remove large pieces of leaf. The stainless steel mesh inserts ensure good ventilation and are robust against mechanical impact. Even large colonies of leaf-cutter ants, which are very fond of cutting, are unable to penetrate them. The sturdy screw sockets are also absolutely bite-proof.. If necessary, the humidity can be increased using the spray bottle.<\/p>\n

Important:<\/strong> Please moisten the substrate before use so that the mixture can bind and develop a firm hold in the ant farm. In addition, if the substrate is too dry and dusty, the ants’ airways may be blocked and, in the worst case, the animals may suffocate.<\/p>\n

Notes on production<\/strong>
\nThe glass is cut to size in accordance with DIN 1249 with a tolerance of +\/- 1 mm. Additional escape protection is essential for extremely small ant species.<\/p>\n

Description of sliding door arena: <\/strong>Our ANTCUBE arena 30x30x60 with sliding door was developed to be able to work comfortably even in full formicaria. They are particularly useful as a formicarium for weaver ants (Polyrhachis and Oecophylla) as they like to build upwards and need a host plant. Sometimes it can be difficult to remove waste from the animals at the bottom of the formicarium, for example. This is not a problem with this specially adapted tank. The sliding door is also very practical for feeding basins for Acromyrmex or Atta leafcutter ants, as plant remains and other waste can be disposed of easily.
